The building, originally owned by Daniel Griffen, dates back to 1851 and has undergone various architectural modifications over the years. It is characterized by a one-story entrance porch supported by four Ionic columns, showcasing the classic style prevalent in 19th-century Southern architecture.

In 1892, the roof was raised to a steep mansard design, adding circular dormers and an attic, which enhanced its aesthetic appeal. The buildings foundation and walls are constructed from hand-pressed brick, a testament to the craftsmanship of the period. The Muscogee Manufacturing Company later acquired the structure, further embedding it in the local economic history.
