This vintage photograph features the Miles Brewton House, located in Charleston, South Carolina. After its completion, Miles Brewton, the original owner, tragically lost his life at sea along with his family. Following this, the house was taken over by his sister, Mrs. Motte.
The Miles Brewton House served as British headquarters during the Revolutionary War in 1780 and later as Federal headquarters in 1865.
