The overall view shows the neighborhood highlighted in red at right, surrounded by a sprawling network of roads and rail routes reaching across the surrounding boroughs and toward the shorelines and inlets to the north.
Notable places shown on the map include Forest Hills itself, marked in bold red, along with the many transit corridors of the Pennsylvania & L.I.R.R. and the historic roads and rail lines that shaped daily travel around the area in the early twentieth century.
