1942 Photo of Letter in Pacific Dry Goods Company Window
In April 1942, a letter of appreciation is displayed in the window of the Pacific Dry Goods Company on Grant Avenue in San Franciscos Chinatown. The letter thanks customers while expressing regret over the forced relocation of Japanese American evacuees due to U.S. Army Exclusion Order No. 20. Many in the community lost their businesses during World War II.
