An abandoned plantation home stands north of Destrehan, Louisiana. Once a thriving residence, the building now serves as a stable for cows. Previously located half a mile from the levee, erosion has brought it perilously close. This image was captured in September 1938 and belongs to the FSA/OWI Collection, documenting rural life.
