This vintage linen postcard captures the Blue Bell Tourist Court in Aberdeen, Maryland , one of the small roadside motor courts that welcomed travelers in the days when the automobile was reshaping how Americans saw their country. Located in Harford County along the busy corridor between Baltimore and the cities to the north, Aberdeen was a familiar stop for motorists making their way up and down the eastern seaboard.
From the 1930s through the 1940s, "linen" postcards reached their golden age, prized for their soft, textured finish and vivid, saturated colors. This edition comes from the renowned Tichnor Brothers Collection, published by Tichnor Bros. Inc. of Boston, and has been carefully restored and color-revived by KNOWOL to bring back the warmth and charm of the original.
