About Cedar Lake, Oklahoma

Cedar Lake is a community of 404 people in southwestern Canadian County, Oklahoma, built around a reservoir that carries the same name. It lies 12 miles southeast of Hinton, 21 miles southwest of El Reno and 45 miles west of Oklahoma City. A private developer called Western Sportsman Club Inc. built the lake in 1956, and the community grew up around its water.

“For decades, people in far southwestern Canadian County and beyond have come to Cedar Lake to swim, fish and boat, using it as a getaway oasis in an oftentimes arid and drought-ridden western Oklahoma.”
