From the 1909 History of Livingston County, Illinois: "Hack laid out the townsite of Cullom and engaged in the lumber, grain and hardware business."
From the 1909 History of Livingston County, Illinois: "The township is thickly settled with Germans. A Mennonite church was erected some years ago east of the village of Cullom, and a Lutheran church built in the village."
