Demetress Welch, a veteran from the Warren McArthur upholstery shop, exits the Bantam theater in Bantam, Connecticut. In November 1941, she suffered broken ankles from an automobile accident. The theater, which operates four nights a week in winter and seven nights in summer, draws visitors from nearby Bantam Lake cottages. This image was created in January 1942.
