About Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas
Fair Oaks Ranch grew from land assembled by oilman and rancher Ralph E. Fair Sr. during the 1930s. His heirs opened parts of the property for residential development, and two incorporated communities eventually united as one city in 1988. The city's boundaries extend across Bexar, Comal, and Kendall counties.
- Ranch OriginsRalph E. Fair Sr. assembled a 5,000-acre ranch, initially raising racehorses and later developing his own strain of Hereford cattle.
- Two Cities UnitedFair Oaks North and Fair Oaks South combined on January 21, 1988, under the name Fair Oaks Ranch.
- Three CountiesThe city extends into Bexar, Comal, and Kendall counties.
- 2020 PopulationThe 2020 census recorded 9,833 residents in Fair Oaks Ranch.
