About Fairview, Oregon

From the City of Fairview: "One of the more interesting historical landmarks is Fairview's original two-cell jail built in 1915, located in Nachakokee Park (the Nachakokee Indian tribe was located in the Fairview area)."

From the Multnomah County Library: "The city of Fairview is on low-lying land adjacent to the Columbia river, largely wetlands and sloughs. The area was originally home to the Clackamas, Multnomah and other indigenous peoples. Settlers arrived in the mid-1800s and established a farming community, which was incorporated as a city in 1908."
