About Flowella, Texas

Flowella is a community of 117 people in northeastern Brooks County, about four miles east of Falfurrias, the county seat. Two promoters, Burton and Danforth, started the town in 1909. Its Spanish name is La Parrita. The growth of Falfurrias nearby kept Flowella small, and today it is a scattered rural community.

  • Sixty people in 1914By 1914 Flowella had grown to an estimated sixty residents, who could stay at its hotel and shop at its general store.
