Ocean City, MD: General view, Bathing Beach and boardwalk
Beautifully designed. Printed on archival paper for modern walls.
This vintage linen postcard offers a sweeping general view of the bathing beach and boardwalk at Ocean City, the seaside resort town on the Atlantic shore of Worcester County, Maryland. Bathers gather along the sand while the boardwalk stretches into the distance, capturing the lively spirit of a summer day. Ocean City was founded in 1875 and has welcomed beachgoers to its wooden boardwalk for generations, growing into one of the most beloved vacation destinations on the Eastern Shore.
From roughly 1930 to 1945, American postcards entered their golden age of "linen" printing, named for the textured, fabric-like paper stock that gave images their soft glow and saturated color. This edition comes from the Tichnor Brothers Collection, published by the Boston firm Tichnor Bros. Inc., and has been carefully restored and color-revived by KNOWOL to bring back its original warmth and detail.
A charming piece of Ocean City history for any wall, printed on museum-quality archival paper and available in three unframed sizes. Fast, free U.S. shipping. Printed in the USA.
