About Glenmora, Louisiana
From AlcΓ©e Fortier's 1914 encyclopedia of Louisiana history: "Glenmora, a village in the southwestern part of Rapides parish, is a station on the St. Louis, Watkins & Gulf R. R., 25 miles southwest of Alexandria, the parish seat."
From the National Park Service: "The Old Britt Place is located on Lake Cocodrie Road amid second growth forest approximately half a mile east of the town of Glenmora. Records indicate that the house began as a one room log cabin in 1867."
