About Greektown, Baltimore, Maryland
From the Baltimore Heritage: "O'Connor's, a package store and restaurant, has been located since the early 1920s in the heart of Greektown at the corner of Eastern Avenue and Oldham Street. In the 1940s, this unassuming, two-story, brick building played a significant role in the city labor movement of the New Deal era."
From the Live Baltimore: "Greektown is a blue-collar neighborhood in Southeast Baltimore where blue-and-white Greek flags commonly adorn porch-front rowhouses. The traditionally Greek neighborhood has recently welcomed Hispanic immigrants leading to a mix of new businesses opening along its main business corridor of Eastern Avenue."
