This cheerful "Greetings from" postcard sends warm regards from the Ordnance Training Center at Aberdeen, Maryland, a small town in Harford County along the upper Chesapeake Bay. The card dates from roughly 1930 to 1945, the era when nearby Aberdeen Proving Ground, established by the U.S. Army in 1917, made the community a hub of military training and testing.
It comes from the golden age of American "linen" postcards, those textured, brightly inked cards produced from the 1930s into the 1940s. This edition belongs to the Tichnor Brothers Collection, published by Tichnor Bros. Inc. of Boston, and has been carefully restored and color-revived by KNOWOL to bring back its original warmth and vivid tones.
