This cheerful "Greetings from Salisbury, Md." postcard sends a warm hello from the seat of Wicomico County on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Founded in the 18th century where the Wicomico River meets the surrounding lowlands, Salisbury grew into a busy commercial and shipping hub, earning its lasting nickname as "The Crossroads of Delmarva."
Between roughly 1930 and 1945, American "linen" postcards reached their golden age, printed on textured card stock that gave their bright inks a soft, painterly glow. This edition comes from the Tichnor Brothers Collection of Tichnor Bros. Inc., Boston, and has been carefully restored and color-revived by KNOWOL to bring back its original vivid charm.
