About Harwood, Texas

Harwood began in 1874 as the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway built west. It honors Thomas Moore Harwood, a lawyer from Gonzales. In 1913, most residents wanted to keep a saloon out of town. To stop it, they voted to incorporate Harwood.
