About Holley, Oregon
The land around Holley in Linn County was once a source of a semi-precious gemstone. The stone became known by the community's name, as Holley blue agate.
In 1854 P. V. Crawford built a sawmill near the present site of Holley. Before then, the first settlers of the Calapooia Valley had gone to Oregon City and later to Salem for flour.
