At the forefront of the picture is a Cadillac and a Chevy Impala. A group of men can be seen in Kent Stores "America's Largest Cleaners", as a couple walks past with two babies in a stroller. Above the Kent Store there were offices for "Mercury Intelligence Service" of Jamaica Queens.
Other businesses seen in the image are Armor Employment Agency, an agency that hired for factory, porter, hospital, stock & shipping, and restaurant work. Outdoor stores, selling camping and scout supplies. And the "Zipper Hospital", who replaced and repaired zippers for luggage and jackets, part of Stanley's Army and Navy Surplus store.
