About Lewis, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania

Many of the county's most stirring events of Indian and Revolutionary warfare took place inside today's Lewis Township, back when it was still part of old Turbut. The renowned Fort Freeland stood here. So did the mills and farm of old Jacob Freeland, who first brought the Freeland name from New Jersey.
