Lyndale is a neighborhood in Hennepin County. Jonathan E. Painter Park links the neighborhood with Minneapolis school history through an educator who developed the city's industrial arts curriculum.
- Painter Park NamedThe Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board officially named Jonathan E. Painter Park on February 2, 1977.
- Former School SiteBefore receiving its current name, the park was called Lyndale Park and was also associated with the former Lyndale School site.
- Industrial Arts PioneerJonathan Painter was Minneapolis schools' first industrial arts teacher and developed the industrial arts curriculum used in city schools.
