About Milbank, South Dakota

From the Federal Writers Project: "Milbank became the seat of Grant Co. after a heated three-town contest. In 1880 Big Stone City won the first election for county seat; but the next year Milbank had outgrown Big Stone City, so the latter induced Wilmot, a town nearby, to enter the contest."
