About Montevideo, Minnesota
Montevideo serves as the county seat of Chippewa County in Minnesota. The city stands where the Minnesota and Chippewa rivers meet, amid farmland, prairie, river valleys, small bluffs, and scenic overlooks. Its population was 5,398 in the 2020 census.
