Muddy Creek is a township in Butler County, named for the creek that marks its northern boundary. Its uneven landscape supported productive farms and deposits of coal, iron ore, and limestone.

- Established in 1804Muddy Creek was among thirteen townships established when Butler County was divided by court order in 1804.
