From the Springhouse Magazine: "The power plant and mine created a wealthy and bustling village for many years. The mine provided the bulk of the coal for the power plant and the power plant provided electricity for the interurban trolley line that traveled between Eldorado, Wasson, Muddy, Harrisburg, Ledford and Carrier Mills, taking miners to work in those towns."
