About Oregon, Ohio
Oregon is a Lucas County city on Lake Erie, east of Toledo. Once part of the Great Black Swamp, its wooded and wet terrain was transformed through logging, farming, and roadside drainage ditches. Maumee Bay State Park and Pearson Metropark preserve or recreate parts of the area's earlier swamp landscape and forest.

- Township to CityOregon Township formed in 1838, and voters approved city incorporation in 1957 by a vote of 3,660 to 2,925.
- Fire Service BeginningsOregon Fire and Rescue traces its organization to September 15, 1936, with its first meeting at the town hall at Wynn and Seaman Road.
- Historic Brandville SchoolBrandville School stands at 1133 Grasser Street and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
- Waterfront IndustryThe Port of Toledo expanded operations to Maumee Bay in Oregon in 1955, supporting industrial activity in the city's northwest area.
