About Paige, Texas

Paige was named for Norman Paige, a civil engineer who laid out the route of the Houston and Texas Central Railway. The town began beside that line in 1872. In 1877 Fedor Soder arrived, sold many lots to German settlers and opened a store and cotton gin. By 1886 Paige had about 500 residents and seven gins.
