About Pecan Plantation, Texas
Pecan Plantation is an unincorporated community and census-designated place centered in southeastern Hood County, with a small section in Johnson County. It occupies De Cordova Bend beside the Brazos River and is located southeast of Granbury. Its residential development grew around an airstrip whose two runways were preserved.
- 2020 PopulationThe 2020 census recorded 6,236 residents in Pecan Plantation.
- Brazos River SettingThe community lies on the west side of the Brazos River, downstream from Lake Granbury.
- Airpark OriginsA 2,200-acre development formed around a cropdusting airstrip, retaining both runways for access from airpark homes.
