Priest River Valley Idaho Landscape 1939 Image
Priest River Valley in Bonner County, Idaho, presents a landscape rich in agricultural potential as seen by new settlers in 1939. The area attracted many seeking fertile land for farming. In October 1939, Dorothea Lange captured this scene, part of the FSA/OWI Collection, which documented the experiences of American settlers. The image was later transferred by the United States Office of War Information in 1944.
