This vintage postcard captures the residence and office of Dr. T. A. Tobin, a chiropractor whose home and practice once stood at 18 N. Aurora Street in Easton, Maryland. Tucked into the heart of Talbot County on Maryland's Eastern Shore, Easton has served as the county seat since the early 18th century, a role that helped it grow into a bustling commercial and civic hub for the surrounding farmland and Chesapeake communities.
From the 1930s through the 1940s, "linen" postcards reached their golden age , named for the textured, fabric-like paper stock that gave their bright inks a warm, distinctive glow. This image comes from the celebrated Tichnor Brothers Collection of Boston, one of the great publishers of the era. This edition has been carefully restored and color-revived by KNOWOL, bringing back the vivid tones and crisp detail of the original.
