Sitting in Queen Anne's County on Maryland's Eastern Shore, Grasonville has long been a community shaped by the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, where fishing and crabbing remain a way of life.
From the 1930s through the 1940s, "linen" postcards reached their golden age, named for the textured, fabric-like paper that gave their scenes such warm, saturated color. This card comes from the celebrated catalog of Tichnor Bros. Inc. of Boston, whose work survives today in the well-known Tichnor Brothers Collection. This edition has been carefully restored and color-revived by KNOWOL.
