About Rossmoyne, Ohio
The settlement on the west side of the railroad at Rossmoyne was first called East Sycamore. East of the tracks lay the farm of Lee Cosley. It passed to Mills and Kline, who made the first subdivision and named it Mill Dale. Later owners changed the name to Rossmoyne.
John O. Brown opened a small grocery store at Rossmoyne right after the War of 1812. Within a few years Ebenezer Ferris took over the business and kept it until his death. His son Henry C. Ferris ran the store in 1894. The 1894 history said one family had probably kept it longer than any other business in Hamilton County.
