San Diego Sewage Line Construction June 1941

Excavation work for sewage lines and a disposal plant takes place in San Diego California. In June 1941 manual laborers used hand tools for the construction process before transitioning to heavy machinery. This project was part of a WPA national defense initiative aimed at improving urban infrastructure during a critical period in American history.
