- Whiskey Rebellion CenterDuring the 1790s, a nearby Presbyterian meetinghouse became a center for opposition to the whiskey tax and hosted militia drills.
- Mingo Creek SocietyThe Mingo Creek Society was organized in February 1794 and used the log meetinghouse near the present church.
