Centerville sits in Frederick County, in the rolling Piedmont landscape of western Maryland.
From the 1930s into the 1940s, American travelers mailed millions of "linen" postcards , named for the textured, fabric-like paper stock that gave them their soft, painterly color. Many of the finest were produced by Tichnor Bros. Inc. of Boston, whose work is preserved today in the celebrated Tichnor Brothers Collection. This particular edition has been carefully restored and color-revived by KNOWOL, bringing back the warmth and detail of the original.
