This vintage postcard offers a serene view in Pocomoke Park, a leafy retreat in Pocomoke City, Maryland. Set in Worcester County on Maryland's Eastern Shore, Pocomoke City takes its name from the Pocomoke River, the winding waterway that has shaped the town's life and commerce for generations.
From roughly the 1930s through the 1940s, "linen" postcards captured America in soft, vivid color on textured card stock that gave them their distinctive name. This example comes from the era of the prolific Boston publisher Tichnor Bros. Inc., whose work survives today in the celebrated Tichnor Brothers Collection. This edition has been carefully restored and color-revived by KNOWOL.
