About the Village of Naples, New York
Settlers founded Naples around 1790. The village took its name from the city of Naples in Italy. More than a century later, in 1894, Naples was incorporated as a village.
The Naples Branch of the Lehigh Valley Railroad ended in this village. Residents voted in 1994, 2001 and 2005 on folding the village into the Town of Naples. Each time, the proposal lost and the village stayed.
