Women in Aircraft Construction Training 1942
In April 1942, two women at a vocational school in De Land, Florida, participate in aircraft construction training for World War II. Mrs. Nancy H. Herbert, whose son serves in the Navy, and Mrs. Anna E. Larrabee, a grandmother with multiple sons in the military, represent the growing workforce of women in traditionally male roles. This effort supports the war production line in Volusia County and documents womens significant contributions during this period.
