About York Township, Pennsylvania
York Township began in 1753, when settlement was still sparse and concentrated toward the southeast. Dallastown, Red Lion, and Yoe later separated from that part of the township. Largely rural until after World War II, it became York's most populous suburb while retaining some countryside.
