About Alsen, North Dakota
From the McLean County Historical Society: "Officials of the Tri-State Land Co. platted a townsite on Sec. 6, Storlie Twp., and named it Alsen after Alsen Island, Denmark, former home of several early settlers in this area. The post office was moved to the village and renamed Alsen, Aug. 31, 1905."
