About Langdon, North Dakota
From the McLean County Historical Society: "The McHugh post office was established Jan. 29, 1885 with Charles B. Nelson, postmaster. On June 25, 1886 the name of the post office and townsite were renamed Langdon, for R. B. Langdon, Minneapolis, the surveyor and contractor of this local branch of the G. N. Rwy. In appreciation, he presented the village with a bell for the school soon to be erected."
