About Berlin, New York
By 1940 Berlin was turning out 100,000,000 lollipop sticks every month. Its growers also raised 2,000,000 rosebuds each year. That was a big output for a place of only about 750 people.
Berlin was named after the German capital, but locals say it their own way. They put the accent on the first syllable. Settlers first came around 1765, and the town was formed from Petersburgh in 1806.
