About Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

From the National Park Service: "The Breaux Bridge area was settled by the 1760s, albeit sparsely. The town itself developed in the antebellum decades and was incorporated in 1859. It takes its name from the symbolic heart of the community, the bridge crossing Bayou Teche."
