About Calvary, Georgia
Families from Sampson County, North Carolina, settled Calvary in the mid 1830s. They had heard the soil here was like the soil back home and would grow the same crops. For years some people called the place the North Carolina settlement. Harrison Fairbanks became its postmaster in 1869.
