Central Gardens is a community of 4,373 people in eastern Jefferson County, Texas. Nederland lies along its southeast edge, and State Highway 347 runs 8 miles northwest to Beaumont. The place was already on highway maps by the 1930s. It most likely grew because the county's oil and petrochemical work was growing fast and needed people nearby.

  • Nederland High SchoolMost of Central Gardens is in the Nederland school district, so most of its teens go on to Nederland High School. A smaller part of the town belongs to the Beaumont district instead.
