About Cochecton, New York

In the 1664 charter, Cochecton marked the boundary between New York and New Jersey. A spot on the Delaware River was marked as the meeting point of three states. After a long dispute known as the Line War, the final border was set near Port Jervis.

The old Erie depot in Cochecton is the oldest surviving passenger rail station in New York State. In the early 1990s local residents banded together to save it, and they moved it about a mile upstream.
