Dell is a community of 17 people in Beaverhead County, in a valley beside the Red Rock River with the Tendoy Mountains rising behind it. It started as a stop for trains on the Utah and Northern Railway, which was finished to Butte in 1881, and it grew into a trading center where area ranchers came for supplies.

- Phone lines in 1907The Dell Telephone Company was organized in 1907 to build a telephone system out to Sheep Creek Basin and keep it running.
