About Edmundson Acres, California
Edmundson Acres is a small community in Kern County, 1.25 miles north-northeast of the city of Arvin, at an elevation of 486 feet. In June 2007 the Arvin Community Services District asked to bring the community inside its boundaries, so that it could pipe clean water from Arvin to the homes of Edmundson Acres.
- Over 10,000 feet of pipeThe 2007 plan called for a main transmission line roughly 4,470 feet long and 12 inches across. Smaller distribution pipes would branch from it: 2,805 feet of pipe measuring 8 inches and another 3,670 feet measuring 6 inches. New water services, meters, valves and fire hydrants were part of the same plan, so that the community could draw on Arvin's supply.
- Eight hydrants in 2009A second notice, dated August 2009, set out how the Edmundson Acres water system would be joined to the Arvin district. That stage of the work called for new water services, meters and valves, plus eight new fire hydrants for the community.
- 296 people in 2020The 2020 census counted 296 people in Edmundson Acres, a census-designated place that shares the ZIP code 93203.
