About Graton, California
Graton sits near the farthest southern and eastern reach of Russian settlement in the Americas. In 1836, Fort Ross agronomist Yegor Chernykh set up a farm along Purrington Creek, between Occidental and Graton. He grew vegetables, fruit and grain there.
